2D open world platformer for PC
The Adventures Of Berry And Minty 2 is the second adventure of Berry and Minty. In this jump and run game you walk through a small world between reality and yourself, a gap inside perception. Both characters interact with the environment differently and are controlled with each side of the controller. To finish the game, Berry and Minty’s counters have to reach zero points before time is up.
The items, characters and platforms are monochrome drawings, which were scanned and embedded into the 2D environment. Rectangles and videos lie between them and create connecting pathways. The 20 minute long soundtrack is a mix of field recordings and piano/synth compositions. Sounds from everyday life were used to create the sound effects. The Adventures Of Berry And Minty 2 was developed with the game engine Godot.
It is recommended to play the game with a controller.
I exhibited The Adventures Of Berry And Minty 2 as my diploma work from June 27 until June 30 2024 at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. During that time, people could play the game on site. In addition, the gameplay from the exhibition was streamed live on Twitch and broadcasted back into the room on a second TV.
