Hello!
My name is Caro and I am an artist and solo-dev. In my work I tell stories about broken realities, withering nature and planetary creatures.
Currently working on:
Cyclothone
A game and album at the same time in which you can drive around six different circuits. Each circuit is a different song and each song tells a unique story.
You can follow along the making of Cyclothone in these devlogs:
Please note: Since I’m working on Your Mileage May Vary quite intensly at the moment, devlogs for Cyclothone are on pause. They will return once I continue working on Cyclothone again.
Two other projects:
Destilysion
A game made of acrylic paintings.

The Adventures Of Berry And Minty 2
A game made of fineliner drawings.

Combining game development and art practice:

My artistic practice focuses on developing video games. Thereby I combine different practices such as drawing, painting, video and sound. The drawings and paintings are made with analog materials and subsequently digitalized to become textures, assets and materials. For the sound effects I like to use recordings of every day objects and in the soundtracks I usually combine distorted field recordings with piano compositions and electronic music. Furthermore, almost all my games include rather poetic texts, through which I tell the stories.
Additionally, I would call the process of how I make games as “artistic game development”. I use the knowledge from working with the game engine Godot in a quite experimental way to try and find new gameplay methods, challenges and perspectives to perceive. In addition, I aspire to bring my games to exhibitions and connect video games with contemporary art. My goal is to further establish game development as an art practice and inspire others to make games as well.
