hello!

My name is Caro and I study fine arts at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen since 2019. I mainly draw and paint but sound is an important part of my work as well. During the process I like to use my fantasy and imagination. Mostly I just start to draw and let structures and forms grow. Composing sounds and writing texts is similarly intuitive.

Another form of media, which has become part of my work more and more, is the one of games. I like to tell stories and therefore see a great potential in games. It allows me to combine drawings, paintings, sound works and storytelling in an interactive way. Despite not making many games yet, I try to work with the concept of games in my drawings. I like to create potential level designs, world maps and characters.

Contentwise I am interested in abstract places, which are not reachable or visible for the human being. Thereby I try to make them graspable and explore them through my work. Those places inspire me to create abstract forms and stories, build worlds and exhaust my imagination.

I began with the deep sea and asked myself: What could be there? What is it like to be at a place, that is physically unreachable for humans? How can I imagine something, that I cannot perceive? After some time I went one step further to space – to planets, stars, black holes and the outside of the universe and asked myself the same questions. Then I left the big and far away places and went back to the very small and near things, the world of quantum particles, microorganisms and the one of my own inner things – thoughts, feelings, memories and dreams.
